Dog Art!
Thu 2 Oct 2008 by Sue McCabe
Danish photographer Betina Skovbroto has taken dog art to a new level with her latest exhibition in Cardiff’s Roath Mill Gardens.
To emphasise the sense of community that dog owners experience with each other while out walking their pets, Skovbroto photographed people and their dogs sitting on a park bench. Each photo will be displayed throughout the park using dogs leads to hang the exhibits from trees.
It is unquestionably true that dog walkers will chat to other dog walkers in a way which people without pets simply do not engage. The sense of having something in common, as you meet the same people daily while out with your dog, often leads to friendship and, it has been known, even relationships and marriage.
Skovbroto has attempted to show this sense of togetherness experienced by dog walkers through her latest exhibition in Wales.
